50 Ways to Fight Bias – workshop

During the 50 Ways workshop, participants will learn how to combat the most common types of bias that women face at work.

50 Ways to Fight Bias is a free workshop that will equip and empower you to identify and challenge bias head on. After this workshop, you will feel better prepared and more committed to challenging bias. As a manager or leader, you will be better equipped to talk about bias with your teams and take actions towards a more inclusive workplace.

During the 50 Ways workshop, participants will learn about the most common types of bias that women face at work, discuss specific examples, and get expert recommendations on what to do.

Who should attend this workshop?

Men, who want to be better allies and support women to have the same opportunities to succeed and lead as men.

Women, who want to learn more about biases and actions that can be taken to combat them.

Managers, directors and senior leaders, willing to create a better workplace, by leveraging the full talents of the population. Companies with more women in leadership roles perform better, and employees on diverse and inclusive teams put in more effort, stay longer, and demonstrate more commitment.

Hiring managers, investors and VCs, willing to help level the playing field by challenging gender bias in situations that are of extreme importance for women’s careers like hiring, funding and financing.

Anyone wanting to learn ways to challenge stereotypes, confront bias, and leverage your knowledge on unconscious and gender bias.

Why are we doing this?

One year into the pandemic, we’re in a moment of crisis for women. Millions of women have been driven out of the workforce by Covid-19. Many more are struggling with burnout and considering downshifting their careers or leaving their jobs.

To avoid unwinding years of progress toward gender equality, we need to act now to promote, hire, and retain women. Combating the biases women face at work is critical to getting this right.

Research shows that unconscious gender bias makes it harder for women to get hired and promoted and negatively impacts their day-to-day work experiences.

This hurts women and society, and makes it hard for companies to level the playing field. Knowing that bias exists isn’t enough. We need to take action—and Lean In’s 50 Ways to Fight Bias program can help.
